Draft for MEA review. Prepared 8 September 2026. Approval is required before publication on the production website.

Who to contact

This policy covers the Mechanical Engineers Australia website and its enquiry form. Contact MEA at mail@mecheng.com.au, 07 4979 3200, or 5 Soppa Street, Gladstone QLD 4680 about your information.

Information you provide

The form collects your name, email address and message, plus your phone number, company and enquiry topic if you provide them. MEA uses this information to respond to your enquiry and discuss the work you request. Please do not include sensitive personal information or confidential technical records in the form. You can contact us by phone or email instead.

Drafts and queued enquiries

As you type, this website saves your draft in your browser. Selecting Send enquiry queues that message for delivery. If the connection fails, the website retries when the contact page is open and connected, including when you reopen the contact page. A draft that you have not submitted is not sent to MEA.

Saved drafts, queued messages and sent copies remain on that browser until its site data is cleared. Someone with access to your browser profile may be able to read them. Use your own device for confidential enquiries. Clearing browser data removes local copies and may prevent unsent enquiries from being retried. It does not cancel a message already being sent or received by the delivery service.

Hosting and email delivery

Vercel hosts the website, Cinova maintains it, Resend delivers enquiry emails to MEA, and Upstash stores the delivery controls and receipts. These providers process information needed to run the website and deliver your message. Resend processes information in the United States. Other hosting and support processing may also occur outside Australia.

The delivery system stores a random enquiry identifier, a fingerprint of the submitted email message, including its form fields, processing timestamps and a delivery receipt to prevent duplicate sends. Rate-limit counters use a keyed fingerprint of the network address rather than the raw address. Hosting providers may separately process IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and security logs.

Website reliability

UptimeRobot checks whether the website is available. Error monitoring through Sentry is prepared for activation once its account setup is complete. It is configured to send limited technical diagnostics, excluding enquiry text, contact fields, request headers, browser breadcrumbs and arbitrary error messages. Session replay, performance tracing and marketing analytics are disabled. Monitoring providers may process connection information outside Australia.

Maps and tracking

The contact page includes a Google map. Loading it connects your browser to Google, which handles that connection under its own privacy policy. The site does not currently add advertising trackers or a marketing mailing list. Enquiries are not automatically subscribed to marketing.

Retention and access

MEA's enquiry correspondence is held in its email systems. Before this policy is approved, MEA must confirm its retention schedule and the handling of access, correction and deletion requests. Technical delivery receipts currently remain in the delivery store to prevent duplicate sends; they do not contain the enquiry text.

You can ask MEA what personal information it holds about you, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern using the contact details above. MEA may need to confirm your identity before disclosing information. If your concern is not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about privacy complaints and its jurisdiction.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be published here with an updated date. This draft requires confirmation of the operator's legal entity, retention schedule, provider arrangements and complaint-handling process before approval.
