Coal Conveyor Tripper.

Purpose & operational requirements

Coal conveyor trippers divert and discharge coal from a main conveyor at selected locations along its length, allowing material to be distributed into bunkers, bins or stockpile areas. The tripper must maintain accurate belt tracking, controlled material discharge and reliable movement while handling continuous coal flow and heavy-duty operating conditions.

MEA scope of works

MEA was engaged by CS Energy's engineering team at Callide Power Station to undertake the complete design, fabrication and site installation of a new coal conveyor tripper for the R3 conveyor. The new tripper assembly was engineered to suit the existing conveyor arrangement, operating requirements and site interfaces.

All major chute sections, structural components and replaceable wear liners were fabricated at MEA's Gladstone workshop, with the complete assembly trial-fitted prior to delivery to verify alignment, clearances and connection points. MEA's site team then mobilised to Callide, removed the existing R3 tripper and installed the new MEA-manufactured assembly. The works were completed ahead of schedule with no injuries or safety incidents.

By managing the full project scope from design and fabrication through to site installation, MEA maintained control over quality, fitment and interface accuracy throughout the project, reducing installation risk and providing CS Energy with a complete, ready-to-operate solution.
